Homework 3 - Bill Cain and Rivera's 36 assumptions about playwright

I chose, Bill Cain, a Jesuit priest and playwright. Most of his stories are based in his personal faith on God. This agrees with Rivera's assumption that one must seek their own personal voice and speak truthfully about life. Cain speaks not only from the truth, but also tries to help out people believe in God. He embraces the idea of how to help out the world. Therefore, his characters that committed a lot of violence changed positively at the end of the story and seek God's help. This is the case in his play,"9  circles." This also agrees with RIvera's assumption that one must write about a reality that one believes is possible.
Cain is also influence by directors, producers and writers to shaped out his work and become a successful playwright. This idea also agrees with Rivera, that mentors helps to bring one's unique voice.

Something about me

Hello, I'm Jose Eduardo Morales

I'm from Sonora,Mexico and raised in Tijuana.  Tijuana is very special to me because of the people, the great parties, the food (the tacos, coconuts, birria) and the best stories. Every day in TIjuana is different. When I'am there I smell freedom and I can do whatever want.  I meet different people everyday and I love hearing their dramatic stories about family, a party they go or they share an interesting testimony about God.  I lived close to the beach and so the people are always friendly and relax. I would play soccer every night, hang out with friends and play guitar to girlfriends.

I recently moved to San Diego, but I always go back to Tijuana to our house. Since then my parents my two sisters and myself had moved to many apartments in San Diego. I think San Diego is beautiful and has very unique places to visit, but Tijuana and my Mexican traditions has always been my inspiration to seek a career on animation. I think animation is a great medium to share my Mexican experiences and what is in my heart.

I had taken theater courses and went to several SJSU's plays and the San Jose Repertory Theater. They always bring something unique and special to the audience. Last semester, I went to see Jonh Cheever's The Swimmer at SJSU. It was very unique because it used movie projections to tell more about the character's personalty. I think these kind of creative choices helps to entertain and connect the audience with the story being told.
Therefore, I feel that this course would help me to learn more about Theater and how it could shape me as a creative person. It would also give me good ideas when I design or animate. So I hope I could give back something special too.
